Matt is an associate at the Firm. Matt’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, brand enforcement, and trademark registration. Matt practices before all Federal Courts in California, the California Supreme Court, and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Matt is diligent in resolving complex copyright and trademark litigation proceedings, including matters involving copyright litigation, trademark and trade dress litigation, unfair competition actions, and right of publicity violations.
Matt’s work has been cited in the Los Angeles Daily Journal (Top Verdicts); Courthouse News, LAW360, PR Newswire, and The Trademark Reporter.
Prior to joining Keats Gatien, LLP, Matt worked as an Investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor where he focused on enforcement of federal labor laws involving complex financial transactions.
Matt received his B.A. from Occidental College, and his J.D. from Southwestern Law School, where he graduated with high honors and served as a lead article editor on the Southwestern Journal of International Law.
Matt received his B.A. from Occidental College and his J.D. from Southwestern Law School, graduating cum laude.
In his free time, Matt replaces the workaday world of the of the Firm’s law offices with the great outdoors, where Matt enjoys hiking, camping, and learning about natural history. A former NCAA collegiate athlete, Matt also enjoys distance running and is a hobbyist sailor.
